Student Intern- Counselling / Psychotherapy Session

Book a low cost session with one of our counselling interns. Our interns have completed their schooling towards being a therapist and are working at our clinic to get their therapy hours. Insurance plans will not cover counseling interns.

Krystle is a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University and a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville. She is passionate about helping people develop self-awareness around recurring issues making them feel stuck and guiding clients to navigate forward with resolution. She is client centered and eclectic in her approach to counselling clients. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution Focused, and Narrative Therapy. Tracy is thrilled to be a member of the team at The Anxiety and Trauma Clinic of Nova Scotia. She has completed her Master’s of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. She has an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy, focusing on the client’s needs with compassion and empathy while walking with her clients throughout their healing journey. Creating a supportive, safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space for her clients to express their thoughts and emotions is the cornerstone of her therapeutic approach. Tracy’s passion for helping people comes from many years of teaching, volunteering, and living abroad in Spain which have given her insight into working with diverse groups of people, various cultures, life experiences and how we use our language.

Having obtained her undergraduate degree in voice performance at Acadia University and subsequently her master’s degree in Opera Performance at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Tracy’s experiences teaching and performing music has enabled her to understand the depth and healing powers music can offer everyone.

Lauren is a Registered Counselling Therapist-C and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, then her Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

Lauren believes that therapy is not “one-size-fits-all”. Working from a client-centered, solution-focused approach, Lauren can help you to discover the strengths within yourself. Lauren specializes in child and family therapy, with a focus on trauma, anxiety, and relationships. She also has experience in dealing with disordered eating, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Regina is a hardworking and highly motivated professional. She is a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She holds of Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Acadia University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Fort Kent Maine, a Masters in Inclusive Education from Acadia University and a Masters in Counselling from Acadia University. She also has a certificate in ASD and Behavioural Interventions from the University of New Brunswick and Level 1 certification in Sand Tray Therapy. Regina has been working with school aged students, ages of 5-18 for over 27 years, 13 of those years working with Special Needs students. Hannah is a Registered Counselling Therapist-C. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She specializes in ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and body dysmorphia.

She works from a trauma informed lens, drawing from trauma informed cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavioural therapy as well as some aspects of the polyvagal theory.

I work with people at their own pace, and offer trauma-informed, current, evidence-based therapies.

She has vast experience working with families in crisis, and counselling individuals to cope with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, behaviour issues, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges and emotional regulation difficulties.

Amanda is honored for the opportunity to be part of the team at The Anxiety and Trauma Clinic of Nova Scotia while completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University. Amanda has a warm, non-judgmental approach to therapy. Her aim is to work collaboratively with her clients as they overcome their struggles while ensuring they are safe, heard, respected and valued.

Amanda has extensive experience working with children as an educator with the Halifax Regional Centre of Education. Amanda obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, along with a Diploma in Counselling from Cape Breton University. She completed her Bachelor of Education from the University of Maine of Fort Kent and a Master’s in Supporting Learners with Diverse Needs & Exceptionalities from Mount Saint Vincent University.
